For an existing house they are the same job: the replacement is the tear-off, the installation is everything that goes on afterward, and the price you should compare covers both. Concrete is easier to match; discontinued clay may need a salvaged piece, and we say so before we start. When the underlayment is brittle or the leak is coming from a valley, the repair is the flashing or the underlayment, not the tile, and the written scope names which.
