What should I tell you when I call?
The property address, the roof type if you know it (tile, metal, shingle or flat), roughly how old it is, and what you are seeing: a stain, a drip, missing tile or shingle, or storm damage. If water is coming in right now, say so first.
What does the free inspection check?
The roof edges, valleys, flashings at walls and chimneys, pipe and vent collars, and the tile, shingle, metal or membrane itself, then the ceilings and attic where we can get in. Everything is photographed and the photos come to you. Our crews wear protective, safe footwear on tile roofs.
What can an inspection not see?
The wood deck, and on a tile roof most of the underlayment, are hidden until the roof is opened. The report says what we could and could not see. On a re-roof, any deck repair found after tear-off is photographed and approved by you in writing before it is done.
When do I get a price?
After the inspection, in writing, before any work starts. The written scope names the tear-off, underlayment, new covering, flashings, permit and clean-up. We do not quote a roof over the phone.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, with the right office for your address. West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Jupiter have their own building departments, and unincorporated addresses go through Palm Beach County. In a historic district or an HOA community, tell us at the start so we can check what approval applies.
Can you provide a roof certification letter for my insurer?
Yes. After we repair or replace a roof, we can provide a roof certification letter for your insurer when you ask for one.
