In the tile villages of Boca Del Mar and Boca Pointe, a storm tends to slide, crack or lift pieces at the ridges, hips and eaves. The tile is only half the story, because the underlayment beneath a displaced piece is open to rain from that moment.
We lift around each damaged area, photograph the layer below and decide whether matching pieces can be reset or the section needs new underlayment and new tile.
On a shingle roof, wind damage is not always a missing piece. Gusts lift tabs, crease them and break the seal strip, and a creased shingle can settle flat again and look fine from the street while the next rain gets under it.

The Old Floresta guideline prefers straight barrel mission tile in terracotta and lists asphalt shingle, metal shingle, standing seam and wood shakes as not preferred; the order is repair, then in-kind, then something appropriate.
