    The short answer

These are the 9 roofing contractors we would point a Lake Worth Beach neighbor to in 2027, in order. Every one holds an active Florida certified roofing license, every one serves Lake Worth Beach, and every fact below can be checked in a few minutes on the state license site and Google.

One thing up front: Molsbee Roofing wrote this list, and we put ourselves first. We explain why below, and we use the same checks on everyone, including us. If you only take one thing from this page, take the last section: how to check any roofer yourself before you sign.

    How we ranked them

We used the same six checks for every company:

    1. State license. A Florida certified roofing contractor (CCC) license that reads "Current, Active" on the state's license site, with the date it was issued to that business.
    2. A real local office. A street address near Lake Worth Beach that matches on Google and on the state record.
    3. Manufacturer credential, checked on the manufacturer's own site. Not just a logo on the contractor's homepage.
    4. Reviews. Google star rating and how many reviews stand behind it.
    5. Roof types handled. Lake Worth Beach has a lot of tile, flat and older shingle roofs. A good local roofer handles all of them.
    6. A clear written scope. Whether the quote spells out what is included, such as the permit, tear-off and wood allowance, before you sign.

Ratings and review counts are as of November 2026, and the order reflects Molsbee Roofing's own judgment on the criteria above. Re-check the live numbers before you call anyone.

    1. Molsbee Roofing

    • Office: 226 S F St, Lake Worth Beach, downtown
    • License: CCC1327429, Certified Roofing Contractor, Current/Active, on the state record since 2006
    • Credential: Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, listed on Owens Corning's own Lake Worth contractor page
    • Google: 4.8 stars from 226 reviews (November 2026)
    • Roof types: tile (concrete and clay), metal, shingle, flat and TPO, residential and commercial

Why we put ourselves first. Lake Worth Beach is home. Our shop is downtown, and the city is one of our two busiest towns: 39 of our 270 won re-roofs since December 2024 were in Lake Worth Beach. We explain in plain terms what moves the cost of each roof (see our 2027 tile roof guide), every quote we write includes the permit and full tear-off, and the scope and price are in writing before any work starts. On the 48 most recent jobs we checked, the final job value matched the signed proposal total every time.

The honest trade-off: four companies on this list have more Google reviews than we do. Read ours and theirs, and judge for yourself.

    2. Garabar Roofing

    • Office: Lake Worth Beach, about 1.3 miles from downtown
    • License: CCC1327252, Certified Roofing Contractor, on the state record since 2006; also holds a Certified General Contractor license
    • Google: 4.7 stars from 626 reviews
    • Known for: residential and commercial roofing, repair and replacement, waterproofing and multifamily work. Its site says it has worked since 2005, and it also offers impact windows, stucco and painting.

    3. Mike McGilvary Roofing

    • Office: Lantana, about 1.4 miles from downtown Lake Worth Beach
    • License: CCC1331721, Certified Roofing Contractor, on the state record since 2018

    • Known for: repairs. Tile repair and tile roof preservation, flat roof restoration and coatings, shingle repair, commercial work and roof certifications.

If your roof needs a repair rather than a replacement, McGilvary's review record speaks for itself.

Who is not on this list, and why

We only listed companies whose license, office and website we could check in November 2026. Two companies with good ratings were left off because their websites did not load when we checked. One well-known company is based about 45 miles away in Broward County, and another serves only Martin and St. Lucie counties. Many map listings with a "keyword plus town" name, no website and a handful of reviews were left off because we could not match them to a licensed business.

How to check any roofer yourself (including us)

This takes about ten minutes and is worth more than any list, ours included.

    1. Look up the license. Go to the state's license search at myfloridalicense.com. Search the company name or license number. Confirm it says "Current, Active", that the license type is roofing (CCC) or a general, building or residential contractor license, and that the name matches the name on your proposal.
    2. Look up their permits in Lake Worth Beach. The city's building permit search shows the permits a contractor has pulled. A roofer who works in the city should have recent re-roof permits there.
    3. Know who issues your permit. Every re-roof in the city needs a permit from the City of Lake Worth Beach Building Division, 1900 2nd Ave N, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33461, open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, (561) 586-1647. The contractor should pull it under their own license, never in your name as an owner-builder.
    4. Get a written, itemized estimate. It should name the roof covering, the underlayment, the wood (deck) allowance, the permit, tear-off and disposal, and the warranty, in writing.
    5. Ask for proof of coverage. Ask for a certificate of general liability coverage and a workers' compensation certificate (or exemption), with you named as the certificate holder.
    6. Read the reviews, not just the stars. Look at how many there are, how recent they are and how the company answers the unhappy ones.
    7. Check the manufacturer credential on the manufacturer's site. Logos on a website are easy to add. The manufacturer's own contractor locator is not.
